Tuesday October 9th

Tuesday: Failure

Today was a very stressful day.  My one year old has been very cranky and screams about everything so the terrible twos have come early.  My older kids like to run and play which seems to always ends up badly for one of them because they hardly ever watch what the other is doing.  I pick the oldest child up an hour after I get home then I have to rush to pick the middle child from their school before they get sent to the office if I am one minute late. With traffic the middle childs school is about ten minutes away and I have less than fifteen minutes from when my oldest child school lets out.

For the past month I have tried the new karate schedule, which means taking them home, getting them to finish their homework, eat dinner and put on their outfits then rushing out to karate within about an hour from getting home from picking them up from school. Invariably I deal with a screaming baby and a middle child who won't finish their peas.  Bottom line is karate has to be sidelined at least until we have more time as a family.

Today it rained and I called the babysitter to see if she was able to make it and she said she would, but would prefer not to if it wasn't urgent.  I didn't call any potential partners.

The silver lining in today is I figured some things do have to be sidelined until we have more time, and my babysitter will come tomorrow so maybe I can do two days work tomorrow and make it a super success.    The good news is I did have conversations with some of my current partners moving my business forward and will have a few game plans to continue.  Every day is a struggle to gain freedom.

Monday October 8th

Monday:  Success

Finally a Monday that is really a success!  Monday's don't have to be bad when you are building a business!  Contacted many people using email and received some messages back.  Even when my 1 year old was tugging and screaming on my leg as my two older children were arguing in the living room I could still send out sixteen messages to potential partners and it only took me less than ten minutes.  Copy and paste is a lifesaver.

I visited the local team in my city and we had a packed meeting with new people.  I did not bring anyone new but next week I plan on bringing at least two new people.  There was a great training that really gave everyone some inspiration about building a business from other owners.  Even though I had a headache from probably a sinus problem during the time I had a great time and looking forward to next week.  I paid the babysitter and went to sleep waiting for tomorrow's success.

First Run Prologue

I attended a conference with other business owners and started writing down my system over this past weekend. I started my new winning system Friday night and can record my success or failure for the past three days today.

Friday:  Success

Today I contacted all my potential partners.  A first day success and a good way to start this system.

Saturday: Failure

I contacted all the people whom I first developed a contact.  I have been struggling to find the right way to do this business with my schedule and just wrote down what I thought needed to get done.  For the first day I contacted all the people I wanted to and requested a phone number to talk to them in depth.

Today was a failure because I did not have any meetings.  I was far away from home for my conference so I could make an excuse that well I didn't have anyone close to home, but that is really an excuse.  Everyone everywhere can join my business.

Sunday: Failure

Because I was away from home today wasn't a failure because I didn't visit a local university.

Today was a failure because I called four instead of ten potential partners after contacting them.  My goal is to have thirty calls a week to potential partners.  Once I get there on a consistent basis this business will be more autonomous.

I am looking forward to Monday and Winning Freedom day by day.

Setting the Rules

Hello Everyone,

This Blog will document my mission to win my freedom by building a 21st century business.  My new business builds online communities.  Because I just want to document the triumph and failure without bias I will leave most particulars out of the description.  I will focus on the goals and the outcomes.  I have determined probably the best things to do for the week.  Every day I will record a Fail or Success for the mission on that day. Here are my missions:

Monday I will contact potential partners and visit my local team.
Tuesday I will call 10 people for meetings Thursday or Saturday and have meetings in the evening
Wednesday I will contact potential partners, connect with new partners and conference with a senior partner
Thursday I will call 10 people for meetings Saturday or Sunday and have meetings in the evening
Friday I will contact potential partners
Saturday I will connect with new partners and have meetings in the afternoon
Sunday I will meet new partners at a local university and call 10 people for meetings Tuesday or Thursday

The reason I am doing this schedule is my life is very busy.  I already own a business with employees, my wife has a full time job in the evening and I have three children whom I help with their homework or take them to whatever activity we are doing that afternoon.

The end goal is building a business that promotes duplicatable leadership.  I will focus on finding new partners in my local area and developing their teams in a three to four week intervals.  If I reach my goals I plan on having a huge New Years Day Party.
